Markopoulos area

The municipality of Markopoulo Mesogaias is located in the Mesogaia Plain, in the eastern part of the Attica Peninsula, touching the coast of the Aegean Sea to the east, where the port city of Porto Rafti is located.

The town of Markopoulo is located in the western part of the municipality, at an altitude of 80 metres.

It is 5 km north of Kalyvia Thorikou, 6 km east of Koropi and 21 km southeast of Athens city centre.

The Greek national road 89 (Gerakas - Koropi - Lavrio - Sounio) passes through Markopoulo. Athens International Airport is 4 km (2.5 miles) north of the town.
